Warner Bros. Outlines their DC Lineup For the Next 5 Years!

10/29/2014

Marvel has been revolutionizing the concept of a movie franchise since 2008 with the productions of Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. While these were not the first Marvel movies, they marked the beginning of the Marvel tapestry that they have interwoven with secrets, surprises, and foreshadowing to create an awe-inspiring world. It was only a matter of time before DC followed suit. With an equally powerful and interesting range of superheroes, Warner Bros. is bringing the DC comic heroes to the big screen in what looks to be a very impressive and intentional way. Like Marvel, some DC heroes have already made it to film as extraneous projects, but also like Marvel, it looks like Warner Bros. is going to either reboot or reimagen those heroes and fit them into the new order. An extensive lineup of movies are set to be released systematically over the next 5 years:
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - 2016

Suicide Squad - 2016

Wonder Woman - 2017

Justice League - 2017

The Flash - 2018

Aquaman - 2018

Shazam - 2019

Justice League 2 - 2019

In addition to those movies, a number of standalone movies are being developed involving Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, and Cyborg.

If you don't know who half of these heroes are yet, don't worry, Warner Bros. won't let you remain in the dark for long! And if superheroes aren't your thing, they've got three more Lego movies coming our way (Lego Ninjago, Lego Batman, and The Lego Movie 2). So buckle up and get a movie theater rewards card, because these next years are going to be full of action that you won't want to miss!

Zack Snyder Responds to The Leaked Batmobile Pictures

9/11/2014

Comments

While the internet was buzzing over yesterday's leaked images of the Batmobile, director Zack Snyder responded to the leak in the best way humanly possible: by posting an even better image of it! The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director shared this picture on his Twitter page which shows us the awesome and versatile vehicle the way it's meant to be seen.

The new Batmobile looks like something of a hybrid between Batman's classic ride from the older films and the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy. You might recall that prior to the release of Batman Begins, the Tumbler was not well-received by fans. Being such a deviation from the Batmobiles of the past, people were quick to condemn it, dubbing it as a "tank".  Fortunately, all of that worrying was for nothing and any doubts people had about the vehicle were erased once they saw it in action. This new fully-equipped Batmobile looks ferocious, and I'm positive that it will have some unique features to make it stand out all on its own. We can look forward to seeing it in full force when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in 2016!

A Sneak Peek at the New Batmobile Via the All-Knowing Instagram

9/11/2014

Comments

Instagram was first released in October of 2010, almost four years ago. We have all been subjected to every possible perspective on dinner, dessert, coffee, and mundane daily activities that you can think of. But yesterday, it was all made worth it. An instagram user happened to catch a few photos of a stationary vehicle that is unmistakably the new Batmobile from Zack Snyder's upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film is set to be released in 2016, starring Ben Affleck as Batman.

Kevin P. Sullivan, a writer for MTV, provided an insightful description of the Batmobile's new look, explaining that it draws on previous designs of the famous vehicle. He stated, "The design isn’t all that surprising based on the looks we’ve gotten from Zack Snyder. The tires and angular design of the body screams of inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s [Tumbler], but it also borrows the longer, flatter look from Tim Burton’s movies."

Despite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice being filmed in Detroit (the most populous city in the U.S.), this is one of the few internet leaks regarding the movie thus far, but we expect to see plenty more as the 2016 release date approaches.

First Glimpse of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

7/27/2014

Comments

This year's Comic-Con has been loaded with all sorts of big movie news. DC Comics dropped another atomic news bomb when they showed the first image of Wonder Woman from Zack Snyder's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice!
Picture
Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious, Knight and Day) will be playing the role of the classic comic book character. This photo completes the trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, all of whom will be in the film and have now officially been revealed. Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as the Man of Steel, while Ben Affleck is putting on the cowl of the Caped Crusader for the very first time.

Judging from the newly released image, it looks as though Wonder Woman has ditched her usual American-inspired attire. Instead, she seems to be opting for an outfit straight of out the wardrobe of Xena: Warrior Princess. Seriously, take a look at this! I've even made a comparison picture to prove it:

I imagine a lot of people are going to be upset about her new look, but I don't have a big problem with it personally. Perhaps it will help her character appeal more to a global audience, but that remains to be seen. Regardless, I think we're all in for a truly special cinematic experience when this blockbuster movie hits theaters on May 6, 2016!
