A new photo has been released for Jurassic World, the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, showing the film's lead actor Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy). Hot off the success of his breakthrough performance in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt is now headlining the new blockbuster Jurassic Park film. At this rate, It looks as though he's going to be one of Hollywood's leading men for years to come.
Three additional images from the movie were revealed last month, showing Chris Pratt, The Help's Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, and the young Ty Simpkins, who played Tony Stark's sidekick in Iron Man 3. The film will also feature Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black, The Cell), and Jake Johnson (Let's Be Cops).
This film marks the series' first return to Isla Nublar, where the dinosaur park was built in the original film. Based on comments from director Colin Trevorrow, the film will be set in present day, 22 years after the first Jurassic Park movie, and it appears the park has been successfully reopened after the disastrous initial attempt so many years ago.
Trevorrow has confirmed that there is a new breed of dinosaur that has been created through DNA splicing. However, there appears to be no reason to worry, as Trevorrow emphasizes, "It doesn't have a snake's head or octopus tentacles. It's a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it's a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film." Jurassic World is set to hit theaters next year on June 12th, 2015.
