Not many things can entice you to a movie like a great poster. Long before any trailers come out, they can effectively pique your interest in a movie, or contrarily they can shatter it altogether if poorly executed. Good or bad, they'll be synonymous with their movie forever. There's truly an art to making memorable and iconic posters, and these here are my top 5 favorites from 2015!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Favorite Movie Poster
I love Star Wars, so when this poster came out, I was all over it. Heck, it even caused me to speculate my own theory about the film and write a blog post about it (here's a link if you missed it). This is legitimately a poster I wouldn't mind hanging up in my room. It has a beautiful display of colors, impressive artwork, and even a lens flare for good measure (something both J.J. Abrams and the prequel posters are known for). It's a perfect tease of so many of the film's elements, from Han and Leia, to Starkiller Base, as well as the new lead trio of Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren. Visually it evokes a conceptual imagining of both the light side and dark side of the Force. Most importantly, it made me and so many others even more ridiculously excited to see The Force Awakens last December.
*** P.S. Any one else get a kick out of the pairing of Ant-Man and The Walk, and In The Heart of the Sea and Jurassic World's posters? It's merely a coincidence they were all nominated, but I appreciate the unintentional parallelism between them and wanted to point it out in case you missed it. ***
