North Korea Threatens America Over The Interview

Leave it to James Franco and Seth Rogen to put the U.S. on the brink of nuclear war. North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un is upset about the comedic pair's newest film, The Interview, which has Franco and Rogen attempting to kill him. In the film, Franco and Rogen play a pair of celebrity journalists who host a popular TV show. As a fan of the show, Kim Jong-Un's character agrees to an interview with the two of them. The CIA, however, attempts to seize this opportunity to turn these two bumbling reporters into trained assassins who would then execute the North Korean leader.

Kim Jong-Un is known for being headstrong and sensitive, so it should come as no surprise that he would react to The Interview with hostility. His North Korean government is seeking to prevent the release of The Interview later this year, calling the comedy-film an "act of war". They are threatening to "take a decisive and merciless countermeasure" if it comes to theaters. Considering that Kim Jong-Un has nuclear weapons in his arsenal, perhaps the threats shouldn't be taken so lightly.

To make a fictional comedy about plotting to kill an actual living leader of a country, let alone one as short-tempered as Kim, is a severely bold and offensive decision. If another country were to make a movie that mocks our country and revolves around killing President Obama, I think we would be pretty angry too. All I know is, if I die over a James Franco movie, I'm gonna be pissed!

The Interview is scheduled to be released this October. Whether or not these threats will effect the release in any way remains to be seen.
